Colophon
This website is the outcome of me trying to reconcile several competing requirements. When I quit work I no longer wanted to participate in commerce. Nor did I want to participate in computer-based technology. Yet I find myself with an abundance of clay things I've made that sometimes inspire people to say "you could sell that" (or members of my now-crowded household to say "would you sell that").
There was a time when selling stuff on the webâ„¢ could be fun. These days, not so much: you often need to get in bed with ickiness.
So, a compromise: Use my own skills to make a very simple website that allows me to potentially fund my making, share some goods, and distribute funds in a useful and meaningful way.
Some notes on pricing.
The Tech
The web stuff is an as-simple-as-possible, go-based, template-driven web sever that avoids the use of JavaScript and was written by me, not some ecological and environmental disaster LLM monster. It could be much more complicated, featureful, and fancy, but what would that really be giving us?
Thanks to FND for providing me with better CSS to get the front page gallery behaving as I'd like.
If you've made it this far you may be interested to know there is an RSS feed of recent pieces added to the collection.
The server is hosted on a machine that has existed in some form on the internet doing networky things for more than 30 years.
